Overview

Agricultural sector is the most important in China as the same as other many developing countries. Chinese workforth is derived from rural population. For investigating this sector, not only statistics but also public policies and qualitative reports are necessary.

According to "China Statistical Yearbook 2007" online, the percentage of primary industry of China is about 11.7%(2,473 billion yuan;). The percantage has been decreasing gradually. In 1996, the percantage to GDP was 19.7%. In 1986, it was 27.2%.
